MEET THE FACULTY
Judge James L. Kimbler
Judge Kimbler is currently the longest serving judge among the active Medina County judiciary. Judge Kimbler became Wadsworth Municipal Court Judge on February 10, 1986. He served on that bench until January 1, 1997 when he was sworn in as one of two Medina County Common Pleas Court General Division judges, where he is currently serving.
Barbara P. Porzio
Ms. Porzio is a magistrate at the Medina County Common Pleas Court. In her current position she handles a wide variety of civil cases, including foreclosures, petitions for civil stalking protection orders and the court’s motion practice. She also conducts all non-jury civil trials. Magistrate Porzio worked as a domestic relations magistrate in Cuyahoga County for 14 years prior to assuming her current position.
Brianna Layborne
Ms. Laybourne is a cum laude graduate of the University of Akron in theatre and arts. She holds a Masters of Arts Degree in Theology and Popular Culture from Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, California.
Lenny J. Hrovat
Mr. Hrovat is the Clinical Director of Substance Abuse Services for Alternative Paths, a community based mental health agency. He serves in a variety of capacities that include supervising diversion services as well as running the day to day operations of the Medina County Pre-trial/First Offender Diversion Program. He is a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor and a Certified Criminal Justice Specialist.
